The Washington Redskins players and more than 300 volunteers from FedEx and the local community arrived at FedExField on November 21, 2006, to help prepare and distribute 400,000 pounds of food to less fortunate area residents in advance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

The annual Pittsburgh Blues Fest also served as a food fest on July 21, 2006. FedEx and the Pittsburgh Food Bank were overwhelmed by the community support received at the event, collecting approximately 10,000 pounds of food in just a few short hours.

City Harvest, New York City's only food rescue organization, raises money from thousands of corporations and individuals in New York City through its unique Skip Lunch Fight Hunger campaign.
