International Women's Day Profile - Emrana Sheikh
Emrana Sheikh, manager, Learning and Development, leads the learning and development for all functions. She had joined FedEx 10 years ago, the official launch date of FedEx in India and has served FedEx in various roles including Training Specialist and Human Resource Development Advisor for the division.
A mother of two, she faced a lot of health complications during her pregnancies but the company stood by her. She was 7 months pregnant when she was interviewed for the role of Human Resource Development Advisor for EMEA. In spite of this the company realized her true potential and she got the job. An instance she always remembers.
Her role at FedEx, in the past years involved extensive travel sometimes as high as 3 weeks a month. FedEx always gave her the choice to plan her schedule and provided secure travel & logistics arrangements which helped her to excel at work.
Emrana says “FedEx treats its employees as equals irrespective of their gender, religion, title, background, age; I always felt that I was like any other employee contributing my share to the company”.
