FedEx and the Girl Scouts Send Cookies and Smiles to Thousands of Troops
March 24, 2006
In 2006, Girl Scouts across North Texas launched the second annual “Troop to Troop” program while selling their world-famous cookies. Buyers were invited to buy an extra box of cookies which was in-turn donated to active duty serviceman in the U.S. and abroad. The program was more popular than anyone dreamed, collecting more than 100,000 boxes. FedEx Special Delivery came to the rescue with vehicles and volunteers to collect and transport the cookies to military locations around the Dallas area, including USO offices, the Red Cross and the Fort Hood Army base on March 24, 2006.
