FedEx, TELMEX and Mexico's Peruvian Embassy Support Peru Earthquake Victims
México D.F. August 27, 2007.-FedEx Express, the world’s largest express transportation and global logistics solutions provider, is providing support to the victims of Peru’s August 15 earthquake in partnership with Telmex and Mexico’s Peruvian Embassy.
In support of the Peruvian victims, Telmex and the embassy are providing comforters, mattresses, tents, generators and packing boxes, along with tools and food supplies, via a flight donated by FedEx. The supplies, which totaled 77 tons, will be given to Peru’s Asociación Civil Caminando Juntos (an NGO) and to the National Civil Defense Institute (INDECI) for distribution among victims.
Thanks to the efforts of individuals from all three entities, these provisions were shipped by FedEx aboard an MD-11 aircraft from the company’s Express fleet, which left the state of Mexico’s Toluca airport during the early hours of Monday, August 27.
