FedEx Ground Celebrates the Pittsburgh Blues Festival by Collecting Donated Food to Support the Local Food Bank

July 20, 2007 -- For the second year, FedEx Ground employees lent some muscle at the Pittsburgh Blues Festival, which benefits the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. As part of the weekend celebration, the food bank sponsored Free Friday, which granted free admission with the donation of one bag of food. To collect the food, the organization once again called on FedEx Ground and the FedEx Special Delivery van.

The campaign was a success, with most blues lovers bringing not one, but two or three bags of groceries. By the end of the night, FedEx volunteers loaded three trucks with more than 24,000 pounds of food.
