FedEx and The Salvation Army Stand Ready to for Wildfire Season
June 27, 2007
With the dry, hot weather of wildfire season setting in, FedEx made a critical delivery to the Salvation Army to support the communities of Southern California in times of need. Thanks to a donation from FedEx, the Salvation Army launched a new Mobile Feeding Unit in the City of Los Angeles. The unit is capable of serving more than 1,500 meals a day to those impacted by natural disasters like earthquakes and wildfires. One of five units donated by FedEx nationally, the mobile canteen is equipped with convection ovens, stovetops, microwaves and a reach-in refrigerator and freezer.
