Kinko's Green Power Leadership Recognized by EPA, DOE
The EPA and DOE selected Kinko's for its role in significantly advancing the development of renewable energy sources by procuring a considerable percentage of environmentally friendly electricity and helping to reduce the emissions associated with conventional electricity generation, the nation's largest source of air pollution.
Kinko's was previously honored as Green Power Partner of the Year in 2002 and with a Renewable Energy Purchasing Award in 2001.
"Kinko's is excited at being recognized once again by the EPA and DOE. The Green Power Leadership Award is a symbol of the importance of efforts like ours to ensure a sustainable future for Kinko's and our communities," said Dan Connors, executive vice president and chief administrative officer for Kinko's. "We will continue to raise the bar and encourage others to do the same."
Reducing the company's impact on the environment is natural for Kinko's, which was founded in 1970—the same year as the first Earth Day celebration was held. In 1997, Kinko's adopted an Environmental Vision Statement that identifies the environmental performance targets the company aims for as it serves customers.

In addition to buying renewable energy, the company's efforts to reduce its environmental footprint include reducing energy use, offering recycled and alternative papers and minimizing waste.
