FedEx Freight Opens Service Center in Calgary, Alberta

September 11, 2007

Calgary, Alberta -- FedEx Freight Canada, the newly formed subsidiary of FedEx Freight that provides intra-Canada and trans-border less-than-truckload (LTL) service, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new service center here on Sept. 6, marking the first-ever direct LTL carrier presence for FedEx in Alberta and Western Canada.

In addition to this 16-door facility, FedEx Freight Canada is fully operational in other service centers throughout the country, including London, Cambridge, Toronto, Ottawa and Quebec City. The company’s aggressive growth plans include opening service centers in Edmonton, Winnipeg and Halifax within the next three months. Officially launched this June, FedEx Freight Canada’s new Toronto national headquarters and service center establish a strong base from which the company will continue its expansion plan.

By the end of this year, FedEx Freight Canada will offer service in more than 7,000 cities in 10 Canadian provinces. The company also will provide direct coverage to the 48 contiguous U.S. states, as well as service to Alaska, Hawaii, and Mexico through FedEx Freight.
